Hindu Festival Calendar 2027
These are the Hindu festival dates for 2027 that our panchang engine works out for New Delhi, together with every Purnima (full moon) and Amavasya (new moon) of the year. Each date is computed from the Sun and Moon with the classical rule for that day. We only list a festival once its rule has been checked against a published panchang, so some well-known festivals are not on this page yet; they are named below.

Pitru Paksha: our engine marks its start on Bhadrapada Purnima. Many calendars, including Drik Panchang, count the fortnight from the next day (Pratipada Shraddha), so you may see it listed one day later. Its last day depends on the afternoon Amavasya, which we do not work out yet.
Festivals not listed yet
Krishna Janmashtami is not listed yet. The rule we use (Ashtami tithi at midnight) gives 24 August 2027, but Drik Panchang lists 25 August, because it also weighs Rohini nakshatra, which we do not work out yet. Rather than guess, we leave the date out.
Ram Navami is the Smarta date (Navami at midday); ISKCON may keep it a day later in some years. Hanuman Jayanti is the North Indian date (Chaitra Purnima); some regions keep it in another month. Navratri shows the day it begins (Ghatasthapana), not the muhurat.
Two festivals that sit on an Ekadashi are on our Ekadashi 2027 list: Devshayani Ekadashi (start of Chaturmas) and Devutthana Ekadashi (end of Chaturmas).

How these dates are worked out
For each day we find sunrise in New Delhi and the tithi (lunar day) at that moment, then apply the rule for the festival: for example Holika Dahan needs Purnima in the evening (pradosh), Maha Shivratri needs Chaturdashi at midnight (Nishita), Ganesh Chaturthi needs Chaturthi at midday, Dussehra needs Dashami in the afternoon, Karwa Chauth needs Chaturthi at moonrise, Dhanteras needs Trayodashi in the evening, and Makar Sankranti is the day the Sun enters sidereal Capricorn (the next day when that happens after sunset). Lunar months are named in the Purnimanta style used in North India, with the Amanta name beside it.
Want the full day, with tithi, nakshatra, Rahu Kaal and muhurats? Open the daily Panchang. To book a puja for a festival, see our online pujas.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my festival missing from this list?
We only publish a festival date after its rule has been checked against a published panchang. Krishna Janmashtami is still being checked, so it is not shown yet.
Are these dates the same in every city?
Mostly, but not always. A festival depends on the tithi at sunrise or at another time of day where you live, so a city far from New Delhi can keep it a day earlier or later. Use the Panchang for your city.
Which calendar style does this page use?
Month names follow the Purnimanta style common in North India, with the Amanta name (used in much of South and West India) given as well. The festival dates do not change with the month-naming style.
